Tim Dickison, CWCA

Partner

Tim Dickison has been in the insurance industry for more than 20 years and is a Certified Workers’ Compensation Specialist (CWCS). Whether it is surpassing his clients’ needs or mentoring a colleague, Tim has a unique ability to connect with a wide variety of individuals and help them reach their goals. He is completely committed to helping his clients and colleagues succeed.

Tim spent more than 17 years with Owen-Dunn Insurance Services, where he served as Director of the firm’s Captive Department. In that role, he specialized in relaying the complexities of commercial insurance simply and clearly. He worked with more than 100 carefully chosen clients across the country in a variety of industries, developing risk-reward programs designed to allow clients to build equity in their insurance programs.

Tim focuses on partnering with companies that have already created the culture needed to make insurance profitable — or those committed to changing their operations to become eligible for captive programs. His years of experience in captive insurance have enabled him to develop customized business solutions rather than relying on a cookie-cutter approach, leveraging his expertise for the long-term benefit of his clients.

In large part due to Tim’s leadership and expertise in the captive market, Owen-Dunn was awarded the Stan Paxson Broker Production Award from Presidio Captive for eight years, making the firm the top broker in the country for one of the largest and fastest-growing member-owned group captives.

Following the sale of Owen-Dunn to AssuredPartners in 2017, Tim continued serving clients in the captive and alternative risk space before joining Owen Taylor as a Partner and Captive Specialist at Sequel Insurance Services. Today, he brings decades of experience to businesses seeking a strategic, ownership-driven approach to risk management.

Tim studied sociology and waterfront management at San Diego State University and had a short stint in the wine industry, winning two Silver Medals and a Bronze at the California State Fair before entering the insurance business. He and his wife Dana have been married since 1991 and have two adult children. He enjoys fine wines and is passionate about snow skiing and boating.
